My Europe - Belgium
My Europe / Mein Europa
'My Europe' is an interactive digital series of events that invites its guests to discover Europe.
How does it work? It's simple: We talk to young people from various countries about Europe and their personal topics of interest. The topics are as diverse as the speakers and can range from current political and social developments through culture and science to one's own commitment to greater tolerance or solidarity. In addition to the given topic, all participants can also vote live on other topics and ask questions on the evening itself.
On 22 June Mindy Vonck will take you on a trip to Belgium
Mindy Vonck is 23 years old and studies communicationmanagement at AP Hogeschool Antwerpen. She grew up in a small village in Flanders. After moving to Antwerp it was quite a shock for her to move to a city with so many different cultural influences. But that experience really opened her eyes to amazing and unique cultures from all over the world.
One of Mindy's passions is music. She plays guitar, piano, violin and she sings. Music has been a very important influence on her life and that’s why she finds the latest music trends so interesting. She also plays the theatre in a local group for over 10 years now.
She is currently doing an internship at Europe Direct in Antwerp. This evening we will talk to Mindy about the cultural scene in Belgium, especially about music.
She will also give us some insights into the characteristics of Belgium, a country with three language communities. Antwerp is located in the Flemish part of Belgium and, with 500,000 inhabitants, is the largest city in the country with a lively cultural scene.
The moderator is Katharina Roß.
